An official at Tashkent State Law University, located on Sayilgoh Street, has been held accountable for unauthorized alterations to an architectural monument. The Prosecutor General's Office reported this action.

According to the statement, the official replaced the entrance doors of the former "Women's and Men's Gymnasium" (19th century), a protected cultural heritage site, without the necessary permits.

"By the court's decision on December 2, 2024, the official of Tashkent State Law University, who uses the building, was found guilty of violating cultural heritage protection rules and was fined," the report stated.

In a 2022 inspection of buildings used by the university, experts found that the walls of the building had been drilled, unauthorized signboards had been installed, and the perimeter had been painted without proper approval. Additionally, air conditioner units and awnings had been installed. An administrative report was filed, and the Yunusabad District Criminal Court subsequently imposed a fine on the university's head, which amounted to three times the base calculation amount.
