A new regulation has been approved in Tashkent city requiring payment for commercial video or photography in markets and shopping complexes. The decision was issued by Tashkent Mayor Shavkat Umurzoqov.
Under the new rule, filming for commercial purposes—such as video clips, advertisements, or other promotional content—will incur a fee of 5 million UZS per hour.
The regulation clarifies that this rule does not apply to mass media outlets or foreign tourists; they do not require special permits or payments.
Additionally, new tariffs have been introduced for certain services within markets and shopping complexes, including updated parking fees.
For parking in market areas, fees for private vehicles will vary depending on the day of the week:
- Up to 3 hours: 25,000 UZS
- Over 4 hours: 50,000 UZS
On weekdays, the rates remain lower. The measure aims to reduce congestion near markets and better manage parking loads.
Earlier, authorities had also indicated that individuals could be prohibited from being filmed or photographed without their consent in Uzbekistan.
