Foreigner was caught smuggling pistol at Tashkent airport

A foreigner attempting to carry an air pistol was intercepted at Tashkent International Airport, according to the press service of the specialized customs complex "Tashkent-AERO."
On August 21 at 9:05 p.m., a black travel bag belonging to a foreign citizen arriving on a flight from St. Petersburg to Tashkent was inspected by the border customs post at Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport.
During the inspection, authorities discovered an air pistol and 290 pellets intended for use with the air pistol. The items were not declared for customs control as required and lacked the necessary permits from the internal affairs bodies.
An investigation has been launched into the incident.
We remind you that earlier, the illegal importation of weapons through the "Gishtkuprik" customs post on the Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan border was also thwarted.
