Amid rising tensions in the Middle East and anticipated missile attacks in both Iran and Israel, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has called on Uzbek citizens residing in these countries to strictly adhere to safety guidelines. The appeal was made on June 13 by MFA spokesperson Ahror Burkhanov.

“If necessary, residents of Iran should immediately enter bomb shelters, and in Israel, they should heed the warnings of the front-line command,” Burkhanov stated.

Uzbek nationals in both countries are urged to regularly follow official news updates and to keep their identification documents and contact information for Uzbek embassies readily accessible.

It should be noted that in the early hours of June 13, Israel reportedly carried out strikes on several Iranian nuclear facilities and military command centers. According to initial reports, the attack resulted in the deaths of several Iranian commanders and nuclear research scientists.

In light of the heightened risk of missile retaliation against Israel, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Tel Aviv strongly advises all Uzbek citizens in the country to take immediate precautionary steps. Likewise, Uzbeks residing in Iran are urged to follow all security protocols without exception.

In addition, due to the closure of Iranian airspace, a number of international flights have been rerouted to an alternative airport in Tashkent.
