Following the closure of Iranian airspace, several international flights were forced to make emergency landings at Tashkent International Airport. The information was confirmed by Uzbekistan Airports.
Flights affected include:
- Uzbekistan Airways flight HY5343 from Tashkent to Jeddah, which returned to Tashkent Airport and landed at 06:18 local time;
- FlyDubai flight FZ1942 from Tashkent to Dubai, which landed at 06:37;
- Air Cairo flight SM882 from Almaty to Sharm El-Sheikh, which landed at 07:46;
- Qatar Airways cargo flight QR8985 from Seoul to Doha, which landed at 07:57.
Additionally, Centrum Air flight C63341 from Tashkent to Doha was delayed. Affected passengers were accommodated in a temporary terminal at the airport.
Uzbekistan Airports advised passengers to contact their respective airlines for up-to-date information on flight statuses and alternative arrangements.
The disruption comes amid heightened regional tensions. On the night of June 13, Israel reportedly launched a series of strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities and high-level command centers. Several Iranian commanders and nuclear scientists were allegedly killed in the attacks.
In response to possible retaliatory strikes, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Israel has urged all Uzbek citizens in the country to take immediate safety precautions and to stay informed through official channels.
