11960In his holiday greetings to the people of Uzbekistan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed the significance of the Uzbek language on the occasion of the Uzbek Language Holiday and the 35th anniversary of its recognition as the state language. He emphasized the need for a balanced approach to the sensitive issue of language, urging that it should be addressed with restraint rather than excessive passion. This was reported by the President's press service.
Mirziyoyev stated, "There are still many tasks ahead of us in order to reveal the incomparable potential of the Uzbek language, to increase its prestige and attractiveness on a global scale. Similar to highly developed democratic nations, the state language should serve to unite society, bringing together all citizens regardless of their language or nationality. He cautioned against allowing emotions to dictate actions regarding language, which he described as a deeply sensitive matter for any nation."
The President also noted the progress made in digitizing the Uzbek language in recent years. He mentioned the development of an "intelligent" program that utilizes artificial intelligence to process Uzbek texts and facilitate communication in the language. Additionally, he pointed out the creation of the "Annotated Dictionary of the Uzbek Language" website and highlighted the active use of electronic programs designed to edit Uzbek texts, convert between Latin and Cyrillic scripts, and provide dictionary definitions.
In closing, Mirziyoyev congratulated compatriots on the holiday, wishing them good health, new achievements, and prosperity. "May the wealth and power of our Uzbek language grow even more!" he concluded.
Earlier, during a presentation of projects related to processing household waste and generating electricity, the President remarked that factories are crucial to the country's well-being.
