3119Seven students from a specialized school in Almalyk, Tashkent region, have been discharged from the hospital following a reported water poisoning incident. The Children's Ombudsman confirmed that the health of the affected schoolchildren is now stable, and they are receiving treatment at home.
From September 15 to September 19, twelve students exhibited symptoms of acute intestinal illness and were admitted to the Department of Infectious Diseases. Fortunately, their condition has improved, with seven students now treated at home.
In response to the situation, the Tashkent regional department of sanitary-epidemiological well-being and public health, part of the Ministry of Health, launched an investigation. Samples of water, food products, and other relevant materials have been collected for chemical analysis. The Olmaliq district prosecutor's office is also conducting inquiries related to the incident, and further updates will be provided as they become available.
This incident follows a similar case earlier this year, where food poisoning at a specialized boarding school in the Sariosia district of Surkhandarya region affected 33 students due to the provision of low-quality food from an outsourced catering service. In August, two kindergarten students in the Jizzakh region were also hospitalized for food poisoning.
