About 70 kilograms of narcotics are intercepted at the Surkhandarya border post (video)

Around 70 kilograms of narcotics, concealed in a cargo vehicle, were intercepted in Surkhandarya. This information was reported by the regional customs department.

On September 7th of this year, at 05:08 in the morning, 69.2 kg of narcotic drugs were apprehended, which had entered the republic through the "Sariosiyo" border customs post and had been concealed in an empty truck, according to the documents.

The truck was subjected to a thorough inspection, revealing that 66 packages of narcotic substances were hidden in the car cabin. Upon opening the packages, it was found that 30 of them contained 31.9 kilograms of heroin, and the remaining 36 contained 37.3 kilograms of hashish.

In total, the weight of the drugs, including the packaging, amounted to 69.2 kilograms.

It's worth noting that, previously, the largest quantity of narcotics in the last 30 years—8.5 tons— were intercepted at Tashkent International Airport.
