Prosecutor was caught with a bribe of 10,000 dollars in Surkhandarya

In Surkhandarya, the senior prosecutor of the regional prosecutor's office was caught accepting a bribe of 10,000 US dollars. Hayot Shamsutdinov, the press secretary of the General Prosecutor's Office, informed QALAMPIR.UZ about this.

On June 29, during a swift operation conducted with the participation of employees from the Surkhandarya regional prosecutor's office and the regional department of the State Security Service, the senior prosecutor was apprehended while receiving 10,000 US dollars from "YeRS" LLC. The bribe was offered in exchange for assistance with fishery issues related to the installation of water-saving technologies.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 168 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code in connection with this incident, and the suspect has been detained in accordance with procedural rules.

On the same day, a citizen identified as U.Kh. (an entrepreneur) and the head of "BDK" LLC, A.T., was caught while receiving 105,000 US dollars from their acquaintance, J.Sh. (director of an insurance center). The bribe was given in exchange for securing a favorable expert opinion in a criminal case handled by the investigative body of the Jizzakh regional internal affairs department, facilitated through the senior prosecutor of the Tashkent City Prosecutor's Office.

A criminal case has also been initiated under Article 168 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code in connection with this incident, and the suspects have been detained in accordance with procedural rules.

"During the investigation, a legal assessment will be made of the actions of the prosecutor's office mentioned above," said Hayat Shamsutdinov.

We remind you that earlier in Samarkand, the head of the law office in Jizzakh and a court administrator in Bukhara were also caught accepting bribes.
