2796A 32-year-old man was detained in the Bukhara region for attempting to bribe a traffic police officer with 10 million soums. This incident was reported by the Traffic Safety Service of the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
On November 7, 2024, while officers of the Traffic Safety Department were on duty on Nomozgoh Street in Bukhara, the suspect, a resident of the Pakhtachi district in the Samarkand region, was driving a Nexia 3 vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He failed to follow traffic signs and drove off the carriageway.
An administrative report was filed against the driver under Part 1 of Article 128 and Part 1 of Article 131 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, and the vehicle was impounded.
Later, the driver offered a bribe of 10 million soums to the police officer. At 10:00 PM that same day, during an operation by the Bukhara regional department of the Main Department of Personal Security, based on the report from the traffic police, the man was caught red-handed when he handed over 200 US dollars and 6.5 million soums as a bribe.
This is not the first such case. Recently, in the Beshariq district of the Fergana region, a person was detained for offering a bribe of 3,000 dollars to a police officer.
