Heroic rescue saves 16-year-old from canal in Bukhara

5701On December 27, a 16-year-old girl was rescued from drowning in the "Hayrabot" canal in the Romitan district of the Bukhara region, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
At 17:10, the Bukhara Regional Emergency Department received a report about a citizen struggling in the canal near the "Afrosiyob" neighborhood.
Before rescuers could arrive, Private B. Qobilov, a junior inspector of the district Emergency Situations Department who was on duty in the area, successfully saved the girl from the water.
Following the rescue, the teenager was taken to the district emergency medical department. She is currently in stable condition and remains under medical supervision.
Authorities have not yet determined how the girl ended up in the canal.
This incident follows a similar case in Namangan, where a mother jumped into a canal with her one- and three-year-old children. Both children were saved by bystanders, while the mother was rescued by Namangan Regional Security Department officers.
