Young man was arrested in Surkhandarya for offering online religious education

A 26-year-old man in Termiz, Surkhandarya region, was sentenced for conducting illegal religious education. The Surkhandarya regional courts provided information on the case.
It was reported that beginning on July 2 of this year, the young man created a Telegram group called "Kuran and Khatim," where he provided religious lessons to 37 people for a fee of 300,000 soums.
The religious content shared in the group was reviewed by law enforcement agencies. According to the Religious Affairs Committee, the materials were not found to contain any content promoting extremism, fanaticism, or ideas against the state or the constitutional system.
In the Termiz city court, the man fully confessed to his actions.
Despite this, the court sentenced him to 15 days of administrative imprisonment under Article 241 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility (violation of religious teachings).
