A tragic traffic accident claimed the life of a 7-year-old schoolboy in the Bandikhon district of the Surkhandarya region, according to the Regional Traffic Safety Department.

The incident occurred on November 12 at 8:00 a.m. on the 98th kilometer of the 4R-100 highway, near the Chinor neighborhood. A Nexia, driven by a 31-year-old driver (born in 1992), struck a boy born in 2017 who was crossing the road at an unmarked location. The child, a first-grade student at School No. 9 in the district, succumbed to his injuries at the district hospital.

Following the accident, a meeting was held at the school to discuss the incident. Officials from the regional traffic safety department, residents, and the child’s parents participated, addressing road safety concerns and preventive measures.
