In Surkhandarya, the monument of the 1st-12th centuries was given to horticulture

The “Markaztepa” monument of the 1st-12th centuries in the Denov district of the Surkhandarya region suffered a loss of 13 billion soums as a result of its illegal use for gardening.  This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

It is noted that it was determined that the archaeological monument “Markaztepa” (0.21 ha) located in the neighborhood “Karakhan” was given to the citizen M.A.

As a result, 630 cubic meters of the area of this historical monument was destroyed by the citizen M.A. 13 billion sums were damaged to the object.

According to the results of the investigation, a criminal case has been initiated against the relevant officials and others, and investigation is underway.

For information, these criminal acts have been transferred to the category of serious crimes based on the amendments to the legislation, and guilty persons are sentenced to imprisonment for up to 7 years.
