Ulugbek Kasimov was reconfirmed as governor of Surkhandarya region

Ulugbek Berdikobilovich Kasimov has been reconfirmed as the governor of the Surkhandarya region, as announced by the regional administration.

Today, November 7, the first session of the 7th convocation of the Council of People's Deputies of Surkhandarya region was held. Zebuniso Alimardonova, chairperson of the Regional Election Commission, reported on the election results from October 27.

During the session, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev nominated Kasimov for the governor position. Kasimov presented his program for the socio-economic development of the region, which received unanimous approval from the council, aligning with Article 122 of the Constitution of Uzbekistan and Article 2 of the Law "On Local State Power."

Additionally, Abduraim Ravshanovich Choriyev, representing the 14th Alpomish electoral district, was elected as chairman of the Council of People's Deputies of the Surkhandarya region.

The session also included the registration of party groups and approval of the council’s regulations and permanent commission procedures.

This reconfirmation follows similar approvals of governors in Andijan, Samarkand, Khorezm, Navoi, Jizzakh, Bukhara, Tashkent region, Tashkent city, Kashkadarya, and Fergana regions.
