Drug traffickers are caught in Surkhandarya

5480In Surkhandarya, several individuals involved in the sale of narcotics, with a total weight of 9.3 kg, were arrested. This was reported by the State Security Service.
According to the report, it was discovered that drugs such as "opium" and "hashish" were being smuggled into the region by drug couriers from Tajikistan and Afghanistan.
For instance, when a Matiz car was stopped and searched in the Termiz district, 4 kg 827 g of "opium" substance were found near a citizen born in Samarkand city, a temporary resident of Termiz city who was traveling as a passenger in the car. This was registered as physical evidence. Further investigation revealed that this drug was smuggled by Afghan drug couriers.
Additionally, brothers living in the Sariosia district were apprehended while attempting to sell 3 kg 627 g of "opium" and 919 g of "hashish" substances for 30 thousand US dollars. It was later revealed that the latter drug was smuggled into the Saryosiya district by Tajik individuals.
In connection with these cases, criminal proceedings were initiated under Articles 246 and 273 of the Criminal Code, and preventive measures in the form of imprisonment have been imposed on these individuals. Ongoing investigative actions are in progress.
