9473Previously, it was disclosed that a youth from Jizzakh, who engaged with terrorists in Syria, was brought back to Uzbekistan. Now, the verdict against him has been announced, as reported by UzA.
Allegedly born in 2000, D.R. was influenced by the banned "Secretary of Tawhid and Jihad" through Instagram in 2023, leading to his involvement with the international terrorist organization's supporters.
He joined their ranks in Syria, undergoing both ideological indoctrination and military training, during which he sustained severe injuries from a Syrian military operation.
On November 27, 2023, D.R.'s health deteriorated, prompting his transfer from Syria to Turkey for medical treatment with the assistance of "Tawhid and Jihad" members. However, Turkish authorities apprehended him, subsequently deporting him to Uzbekistan.
On March 14 of this year, the Yangiobod district court adjudicated his case, resulting in a six-year prison sentence based on relevant legal provisions.
