The Press Service of the Ministry of Energy reported yesterday, 30th April, that a malfucntion had occurred in the high-voltage electrical equipment (current transformer) at the Sirdarya thermal power station.  This led to interruptions in the electricity supply in areas of several districts.  However, the electricity supply in the region was fully restored to consumers overnight.

A malfunction occurred at the Sirdarya thermal power station, resulting in power supply interruptions in some areas of Sardoba, Aqoltin, Mirzaabad, Yangiyer and Khavos districts.   Referendum polling stations in these regions were provided with diesel generators, so there were no interruptions in their electricity supply.

According to the Ministry's report, reserve capacities from Tashkent and Navoi thermal power stations and the "Chorvok" hydroelectric power station are available to those with insufficient supplies.

Currently, the malfunction in the high-voltage electrical equipment at the Sirdarya thermal power station has been resolved, and the electricity supply of the consumers in the region has been fully restored.  It has been reported that the thermal power plant is stable and functioning correctly.
