The chief inspector of the tax department in the Syrdarya region was caught accepting a bribe. Aziz Obidov, the press secretary of the Supreme Court, provided this information.
It was reported that the chief tax inspector promised to eliminate the tax debts of three LLCs operating in the city of Gulistan by declaring them bankrupt in a simplified manner. In return, he demanded 4,000 US dollars. The inspector was caught with physical evidence while receiving this money.
According to the court's verdict, the defendant was found guilty under articles 25, 168, and 28, 211 of the Criminal Code and was sentenced to 2 years and 3 months of deprivation of the right to work in state bodies, official and material work, as well as any positions in tax authorities for two years. Additionally, he was deprived of liberty for a term.
It should be noted that officials who abused their positions were previously arrested in the Syrdarya region and Tashkent city.
