Two National Guard officers in Tashkent have been arrested for accepting bribes in exchange for securing employment within the organization. The incidents were reported by UzA.

In the first case, Senior Lieutenant T.A., a squad commander in the Olmazor district division of the Tashkent City National Guard Security Department, was caught red-handed accepting $5,500. The bribe was taken at the parking lot of the “Ecobozor” shopping complex in Mirzo Ulugbek district. T.A. had promised to use his connections with high-ranking colleagues to secure a position for the individual’s acquaintance within the National Guard system.

In a separate operation in Urta Chirchik district, Colonel A.R., head of a wellness camp under the National Guard’s Security Department, was arrested for accepting $1,500. He had assured a 1989-born individual that he could arrange employment in one of the National Guard’s security units in Tashkent region through his influential contacts.

Both individuals are now facing charges under Articles 168 (Fraud) and 28,211 (Bribery) of the Criminal Code. They have been detained, and investigations are ongoing.

It is worth noting that a similar case occurred earlier in Bektemir district, where an investigator from the Internal Affairs Department was sentenced to two years in prison and barred from working in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for three years after being caught accepting a bribe.
