Counterfeit dollar sellers arrested in Syrdarya

A person has been arrested in the Syrdarya region for selling 1,600 counterfeit US dollars for 10.2 million soums. This was reported by the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General's Office.

According to the report, during an operational operation conducted in cooperation with the department and employees of the Syrdarya regional departments of the State Security Service, citizen E.B. (previously convicted) and others were detained with material evidence. They were caught selling 1,600 counterfeit US dollars in 100-dollar bills to citizen M.Kh. in front of the Sardoba YPH premises in Akaltyn district.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 176 of the Criminal Code (production and transfer of counterfeit money, excise stamps or securities), and investigative measures are underway.

It is worth noting that earlier in Tashkent, individuals were detained for selling 2.06 kg of metal made to resemble molten gold for 70 thousand US dollars.
