Store was found stealing 5 billion soums worth of gas in Syrdarya

Authorities in the Syrdarya region have uncovered a store that illegally used natural gas valued at 5.025 billion soums. This was reported by the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor's Office.

During a pre-investigation led by the Yangiyer City Department in collaboration with "Uzenergoinspeksiya" staff from the regional administration, it was revealed that officials from "A. Jami" LLC had tampered with the natural gas network in a production workshop. They bypassed meter accessories to secretly connect to the public natural gas supply, causing substantial damage to state and societal interests.

A criminal case has been opened under Article 169 (Theft) of the Criminal Code, and investigations are ongoing.

This incident follows a similar case in Tashkent, where an LLC was found to have illegally consumed 7.5 billion soums of electricity by tampering with an electric meter.
