70727 patients were poisoned by “Dok-1 Max” syrup in Syrdarya region. Four of them have recovered, the other three are currently in the intensive care unit. Oltinoy Esonova, deputy head of the regional Health Department, gave information about this.
“As a pediatrician, I wanted to address the people of Syrdarya. As we all know, we have been seeing side effects among our children for a few days after they took the “Dok-1 Max”medicine. “This condition was recorded in 7 patients in our region, four of them have recovered today and the other three of them are continuing treatment in the intensive care unit,” says Esonova.
He asked parents not to buy or consume this drug. He also said that notices were distributed to families with children under the age of 6 years old in the region.
“A list of children under the age of 6 years has been compiled and a notice has been distributed to every household. “If there are children who recently took the “Dok-1 Max” drug, we ask them to contact a family doctor working in that area and inform them that they used this drug even without any negative effects,” says Esonova.
He also reminded people that it is imperative to consult a doctor if children experience weakness, nausea, vomiting, or an increase in body temperature.
It should be recalled that by the order of the Pharmaceutical Network Development Agency of the Ministry of Health on 22 December 2022, it was decided to withdraw “Dok-1 Max” drugs from pharmacies.
It was also reported that 7 officials were dismissed from their positions after the death of 18 children in Samarkand due to the consumption of “Dok-1 Max” syrup.
On 28 December, it was announced that another child had died after drinking “Dok-1 Max” syrup in Kashkadarya.
After that, the Investigative Department of the State Security Service initiated a criminal case against the officials of the “Kuramax Medical” Limited Liability Company and the “Scientific Center for Standardization of Medicines” Limited Liability Company, and the suspects were placed in the investigative detention center of the State Security Service.
Later, India’s Marion Biotech Pvt. Ltd” company has stopped production of these drugs.
Also, the sale of all types of medicines produced by this company was stopped.
On January 2, 2023, it was reported that a 3-year-old boy in Fergana was being treated for acute drug poisoning after drinking Dok-1 Max syrup.
