7156A total of 65 children died in Uzbekistan due to the drug “Dok-1 Max”. Aziz Obidov, press secretary of the Supreme Court, informed about this.
According to the approved indictment, a total of 21 people are charged with the crimes committed.
It is noted that S.R.P., director of “Kuramax Medikal” LLC, who was born in the Republic of India in 1972, was involved in the operation of the Tashkent city court. And a criminal case against S.K., born in Tashkent in 1982, who at the same time worked as the director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Network and the director of the State Unitary Enterprise “State Center for Expertise and Standardization of Medicines, Medical Products and Medical Equipment” under him. In addition, a criminal case was opened against 19 other responsible employees of “Kuramax Medikal” LLC and the State Unitary Enterprise “Medicines”.
“16 of the defendants are men and 5 are women, 7 of them were put in custody, 12 were given a “receipt of good behavior” and 2 were put on bail. Aziz Obidov said.
They were charged with 11 articles of the Criminal Code. These are:
1. Article 184 – evasion of payment of taxes or fees;
2. Article 28 – types of crime participants;
3. Article 186-3 – Production, preparation, acquisition, storage, transportation or transfer of low-quality or counterfeit drugs or medical products, sale of drugs or medical products outside pharmacies and their branches, as well as in Violation of the procedure for retail sale of prescription drugs containing strong active substances;
4. Article 25 – preparation for a crime and attempt to commit a crime;
5. Article 205 – abuse of power or authority;
6. Article 207 – cold-hearted approach to career; 7. Article 209 – career fraud;
8. Article 210 – bribery;
9. Article 211 – bribery;
10. Article 212 – mediation in giving and receiving bribes;
11. Article 228 – is accused of committing crimes such as preparing, forging, selling or using documents, stamps, seals, forms.
For information, “Dok-1 Max” syrup produced by Indian pharmaceutical company Marion Biotech caused the death of 20 children in Uzbekistan. It was later revealed that the company used a toxic substance that is used at an industrial level in the production of medicines.
We remind you that by the order of the Pharmaceutical Network Development Agency of the Ministry of Health on December 22, 2022, it was decided to withdraw “Dok-1 Max” drugs from pharmacies.
Also, it was reported that 7 officials were dismissed after the death of 18 children in Samarkand due to the consumption of “Dok-1 Max” syrup.
On December 28, it was announced that another child died after drinking Dok-1 Max syrup in Kashkadarya.
After that, the Investigative Department of the State Security Service initiated a criminal case against the officials of “Kuramax Medical” LLC and “Scientific Center for Standardization of Medicines” LLC, and the suspects were placed in the Investigative Detention Center of the State Security Service.
Later, India’s Marion Biotech Pvt. It was reported that the company Ltd. Has stopped the production of these drugs.
Also, the sale of all types of medicines produced by this company was stopped.
On January 2, 2023, it was reported that a 3-year-old boy in Fergana was being treated for acute drug poisoning after drinking Dok-1 Max syrup.
Earlier, “Dok-1 Max” was found to contain 300 times more toxic substances than normal.
