8724Today, on August 16, the next court session is being held against the accused in the case of the drug “Dok-1 Max”, which caused the death of 65 children in Uzbekistan. Several lawyers asked to expel KALAMPIR.UZ journalist Hulkar Murtazoyeva from the court.
In this court, the lawyers of the defendant A.A. M. Madaminov and A. Husanov filed a motion to remove the journalist of the KALAMPIR.UZ website Hulkar Murtazoyeva from the court, accusing her of not following the presumption of innocence in covering the trial.
The fact is that QALAMPIR.UZ participated in the first court session held on August 11 of this year and prepared a detailed report about the court session. Naturally, the video report describes the trial and the persons participating in it – defendants, their relatives and witnesses. Before this court session, relatives of the defendants asked journalists not to photograph the defendants. But such procedure is determined only by the presiding judge. When the court session began, there were no bans or restrictions on media coverage of the court.
Lawyers are present at the court today, August 16, the QALAMPIR.UZ journalist announced on YouTube, “The most terrible criminal trial has begun. In the video titled “House arrest was requested for the leader of Kuramakh”, he accused him of not following the presumption of innocence.
This request was supported by all lawyers except one lawyer. This petition will be considered by the court until the next trial, and the final decision will be made.
Also, another lawyer, I. Rahmatov, accused the journalist of the Kun.uz website of not following the presumption of innocence.
The court rejected this request. But he asked media representatives to follow the presumption of innocence in covering the process.
It should be noted that last week the Supreme Court announced that a total of 65 children died in Uzbekistan due to the drug “Dok-1 Max”. According to the approved indictment, a total of 21 people are accused of the crimes committed.
