Shukrulloh chaplain was dismissed

108146Shukrullo Egamberdiyev (Shukrullo domla), chief imam of Tashlaq district of Fergana region and imam-khatib of “Abu Hanifa” mosque, was relieved of his duties after speeches that he made provoked discussions on social networks. This was reported by the press service of the Office of Muslims of Uzbekistan.
Today, May 16th, a meeting was held by the Internal Control Commission of the Muslim Office. The speeches of Shukrullo Egamberdiyev were discussed at the meeting as they had caused protests on social networks. It was also emphasized that these actions do not correspond to the status of imam.
Shukrullo Egamberdiyev admitted that he had made a mistake in his speech, he apologized and stated that he will not allow such shortcomings to occur in his future activities.
The internal control commission of the Office of Muslims, who have taken into account the aforementioned issue, has concluded that Shukrullo Egamberdiyev should be given a “reprehensible” disciplinary punishment and released from the post of chief imam of Tasloq district.
In the statement issued by the Muslim Office, it was not mentioned which of Shukrullo Egamberiyev’s speeches caused the disciplinary action against him, but when we contacted the officials of the office, they stated that four or five speeches given by Shukrullo Egamberdiyev in the last six months had caused objections.
