Uzbekistan national team forward Eldor Shomurodov has been named among the 10 best players not playing in Europe’s top five leagues, Sofascore reported.
Shomurodov joined Istanbul Başakşehir at the start of the current season. In his debut season with the club, he scored 22 goals and became the top scorer of the Turkish Super Lig.
Eldor also recorded the league’s best figures for non-penalty goals and goal contributions. Although he and Trabzonspor forward Paul Onuachu both scored 22 goals, additional statistics placed Shomurodov first in the top scorers’ ranking.
For reference, Istanbul Başakşehir, where Abbosbek Fayzullayev and Eldor Shomurodov play, finished the season in fifth place. The team missed out on the chance to compete in European competitions next season.
