Sherali Joraev has been appointed as the deputy mayor of Surkhandarya

Sherali Kholmahamadovich Joraev has been appointed as the deputy mayor of Surkhandarya, serving as the head of the regional Investment, Industry, and Trade Department. This announcement was made by the regional government.

Prior to assuming this role, Joraev had been serving as the deputy head of the main department for poverty alleviation and employment in Surkhandarya region since 2023.

For background, Sherali Joraev was born in 1984 in Altinsoy district. He graduated from Termiz State University in 2007 and from the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2010, specializing in applied mathematics, finance, and public administration.

Throughout his professional journey, Joraev has held various positions including deputy governor of the district, deputy head of the regional Investments and Foreign Trade Department, and head of the regional department of the Agency for the Development of Neighborhood Work and Entrepreneurship.

It's worth noting that earlier, new governors were appointed to two districts of the Fergana region.
