The "Fischer Random World Championship" hosted by Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, has ended.  Uzbek grandmaster Nodirbek Abdusattarov, who started the competition very successfully, was limited to 4th place in the end.

Nodirbek, who lost to American Hikaru Nakamura in the semi-finals, faced Norwegian Magnus Carlsen in the fight for the 3rd place.  Abdusattarov, who started the first game against Carlsen with a victory, accepted the defeat in the remaining games - 1:3.  Thus, Abdusattarov won the 4th place of the World Championship and received 40 thousand US dollars.

In the final of the tournament, the Russian Yan Nepomnyashi, participating under the FIDE banner, played against the American Hikaru Nakamura.  During 4 games, the sides recorded a 2:2 draw.  In the decisive 5th game, Nakamura, who played with white pieces, won.

It should be recalled that Nakamura received a prize of 150,000 US dollars as the winner of the competition.  2nd place winner Jan Nepomnyashi was awarded $85,000, and 3rd place winner Magnus Carlsen was awarded $55,000.
