First ladies are also gathering in Samarkand

As we previously reported, the first summit of the Organization of Turkic States will be held in Samarkand on 10-11 November.  At the event chaired by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Chairman of the People's Consultation of the National Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the President of the Republic of Turkey Rajab Tayyip Erdogan, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilhom Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokayev, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadir Japarov and the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban will participate.

According to a source from QALAMPIR.UZ, some leaders are visiting the event with their wives - first ladies.  In particular, the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is accompanied by his wife Emina Erdogan.

Also, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilhom Aliyev, is expected to arrive with his wife, Mehriban Aliyeva, the country's vice president.

According to unconfirmed information, the First Lady of the Kyrgyz Republic may travel to Samarkand with her husband Sadir Japarov.

It is known that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban arrived in Samarkand yesterday, 9 November.  He is accompanied by his wife Aniko Levai.

Among the first ladies mentioned above, Mehriban Aliyeva, the wife of the President of Azerbaijan, is coming to Uzbekistan for the first time.  The fact is that the President of Azerbaijan Ilhom Aliyev paid a state visit to Uzbekistan on 21-22 June this year.  In addition, on 15-16 September, he came to Samarkand to participate in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization as an honored guest.  Mehriban Aliyeva did not accompany him on these visits.

First Lady Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, the wife of the President of Uzbekistan, will lead the wives of the heads of state of the countries of the Organization of Turkic States.  Special cultural programs are being prepared in Samarkand for the first ladies.
