Two ancient huts and a tombstone were recently discovered in the "Kuktosh" cemetery located in the Pastdargom district of Samarkand region. According to the Cultural Heritage Agency, these rare finds were studied by a working group after an appeal from local residents, revealing that they date back to the Middle Ages.

The huts and tombstone are not listed in the official national list of immovable cultural heritage objects, which was approved by a 2019 Cabinet of Ministers decision. However, employees from the Samarkand Archaeological Institute are conducting scientific research to further understand their historical significance.

Efforts are underway to include these medieval findings in the National Register. Local authorities are preparing the necessary documents to ensure that the huts and tombstone are placed under state protection.

In a related discovery, a temple and ancient wall paintings related to the Sogdian culture were previously found in the Urgut district of Samarkand, highlighting the rich historical significance of the region.
