A father who had been evading alimony payments was found hiding inside a wardrobe in the Urgut district of Samarkand region, the press service of the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement reported.
According to the report, the Urgut district office of the Bureau was handling an enforcement case based on the decision of the Toylok inter-district civil court. The court had issued an enforcement document ordering debtor F.N. to pay alimony to claimant L.R. for the material support of their child.
It was established that the father had long failed to fulfill his alimony obligations, resulting in a debt of 60 million soums. Moreover, he had been hiding at an undisclosed location, prompting the Bureau’s search department to put him on a wanted list.
During operational search measures, the man was discovered hiding inside a wardrobe in his residence. He was then handed over to a state bailiff for further enforcement procedures.
It is worth noting that earlier in Fergana, a father who had been evading alimony payments and hiding behind a curtain was imprisoned. Last year, a man in Kashkadarya who was avoiding alimony was found under blankets in his home, while in Namangan and Surkhandarya, such fathers were discovered in house basements. In Khorezm, one was found at a poultry farm; in Fergana city, another was caught at a nightclub; in Andijan, one was found at his aunt’s home; and in Bukhara, another was tracked down at his grandmother’s residence. In addition, in Surkhandarya region, a father who had been evading alimony for the support of his underage child was detained during his brother’s wedding ceremony. Meanwhile, in the Andijan region, another father avoiding alimony payments was discovered hiding behind roofing sheets at his unfinished house.
