3514A fraudster who promised to send 49 individuals to work in England and other foreign countries has been apprehended in the Samarkand region. This information was reported by the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor's Office.
It has been noted that a citizen, V.I., fraudulently obtained $4,500 from citizens E.X. and B.B. in exchange for promises to send them to work in England. V.I. was caught with physical evidence when he returned 1.2 million soums and 700 US dollars.
During the preliminary investigation, it was discovered that V.I. had received a total of $37,160 from 47 additional citizens in exchange for sending them to work in foreign countries.
In a related incident, a citizen in the Navoi region, identified as R.D., was caught with physical evidence after receiving $4,000 in exchange for sending A.F. to live and work in Korea and for preparing visa documents.
"Criminal cases have been initiated under Article 168 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code in connection with these incidents, and investigations are ongoing," the report stated.
It should be noted that earlier in the Payariq district of the Samarkand region, a fraudster who promised to send a citizen to work in the United States for $24,000 was also apprehended.
