Head detained in Samarkand for attempting to sell land for USD 185,000

In Payariq District of Samarkand Region, the head of a farming enterprise was detained for attempting to sell 3.7 hectares of land for USD 185,000. This was reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office.
According to the information, a complaint was submitted by a citizen identified as O.F. to the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Samarkand Region, the Criminal Investigation Department, and the unit for combating the misappropriation of land resources.
During an оператив-search operation conducted jointly with the regional prosecutor’s office and other law enforcement agencies, the head of the “H.D.” farming enterprise in Payariq District, identified as H.B., was detained while receiving an advance payment of USD 10,000. He had promised to sell a 3.7-hectare irrigated agricultural land plot belonging to the farming enterprise under his management to citizen O.F. at a rate of USD 50,000 per hectare, totaling USD 185,000, and to facilitate the registration of cadastral documents through his official connections.
The suspect was apprehended with material evidence at the scene.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 168, Part 4, Clause “a” of the Criminal Code (fraud), and investigative actions are currently underway.
It is worth noting that earlier reports stated that in Fergana Region, a chief specialist of the Department of Agriculture was detained while attempting to sell part of land allocated for the employment of low-income and unemployed youth.
