16-year-old dies after being struck by falling tree in Samarkand

On March 30, a 16-year-old boy tragically passed away during a tree-cutting incident in the Payarik district of the Samarkand region. This was reported by QALAMPIR.UZ.

According to Hayot Shamsutdinov, Press Secretary of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Payarik District Police Department received a report at around 11:00 AM on March 30. The report stated that a boy born in 2008, residing in the “Ilg‘or” neighborhood, had suffered severe injuries during a tree-cutting process at his home. He was immediately taken to the Chelak hospital.

It was determined that while cutting a tree, a branch fell on the boy, causing critical injuries. Despite being rushed to the hospital’s intensive care unit by his family and receiving medical assistance, the boy could not be saved.

The case is currently under the supervision of the district prosecutor’s office, and pre-investigation checks are being conducted by the police.

Earlier, on February 19, a 10th-grade student in the Jomboy district of the Samarkand region died in a car accident during school hours.
