10590In Samarkand, a woman was apprehended for attempting to sell her 13-year-old daughter for $25,000 and reportedly celebrated the transaction at a restaurant, as reported by the "Zamon" program.
The woman had previously been convicted under Article 169 (Theft) of the Criminal Code two years ago and is currently serving her sentence under house arrest.
"I have apologized to my daughter many times. One day she will understand. I can only blame myself, not my daughter. I regret what I did," the mother expressed.
Furthermore, the woman revealed that the "buyer" had requested to adopt one of her daughters and had offered to buy a house in exchange.
The defendant was sentenced to 5 years and 2 months in prison under Article 57 of Article 135 of the Criminal Code (Trafficking in Human Beings) and is required to serve her sentence in a strict colony.
It is worth noting that earlier, in the Navoi region, a woman was arrested for attempting to sell her baby for 10 million sums.
