Saida Mirziyoyeva, the eldest daughter of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and a presidential aide, toured Samarqand with Oguljahon Otaboyeva, the eldest daughter of Turkmenistan's national leader and Chairman of the People's Council, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Mirziyoyeva shared details of their visit on her Telegram channel.

"Together with Oguljahon Gurbangulyevna, we visited Samarqand’s landmarks—Amir Temur’s mausoleum, Bibikhonim Mosque, and the legendary Registan Square. The ancient craftsmanship preserved in the Konigil tourism village left a deep impression," she wrote in her post.

Mirziyoyeva also highlighted that Samarkand is not only the jewel of Uzbekistan but also a significant cultural hub for the entire region, where the history, art, and spiritual heritage of Central Asian peoples harmoniously converge.

"With our esteemed guest, we emphasized the importance of preserving these priceless treasures for future generations," she added.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived in Samarkand on April 23. He was welcomed at Samarkand International Airport, adorned with the flags of both nations, by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. As part of the visit, Mirziyoyev and Berdimuhamedov paid tribute to Uzbekistan’s First President, Islam Karimov, at the Hazrati Khizr Complex. They also participated in cultural events at the "Silk Road Samarkand" International Tourism Center, specifically in the "Eternal City" Historical-Ethnographic Park.

On April 24, Mirziyoyev and Berdimuhamedov held bilateral talks in Samarqand. Following the discussions, Berdimuhamedov was presented with Uzbekistan’s highest state award—the "Order of Supreme Friendship"—in a formal ceremony. While presenting the award, Mirziyoyev highlighted Berdimuhamedov’s significant contributions to strengthening traditional friendship, good-neighborly relations, and strategic partnership between the two nations.

Earlier, Saida Mirziyoyeva congratulated Berdimuhamedov on receiving the "Order of Supreme Friendship" during the ceremony in Samarqand.
