Lacetti driver runs over pedestrians at Samarkand crosswalk (video)

A 28-year-old driver of a Lacetti vehicle ran over pedestrians while they were crossing at a marked crosswalk in Samarkand, according to a report from QALAMPIR.UZ.

The incident occurred on April 11 at 8:00 PM, when the driver, born in 1997, was driving his Lacetti down Rudaki Street near the "Nurli Yol" neighborhood. While crossing the street at the pedestrian lane, several individuals were struck by the vehicle.
 
Following the incident, the injured pedestrians were transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Authorities from the Samarkand Police Department's Investigation Division launched a criminal case under Article 266, Part 2 of the Criminal Code—which pertains to violations of traffic safety regulations. The driver was taken into custody, and preliminary investigations are currently underway.

Earlier, in Nurobod district, Samarkand region, a man drove his car into a crowd at a school stadium after becoming enraged over his football team’s loss. A criminal case was also opened against the suspect.
