Assistants of the mayor in the Samarkand region were arrested in a joint operation involving the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the regional ministry. This information was reported by the QALAMPIR.UZ source.
According to the report, two individuals working as assistant mayors in the neighborhoods of Samarkand district colluded and attempted to defraud another citizen. The suspects promised the citizen the opportunity to win an auction for 3.5 hectares of vacant land within the reserve of government, ensuring their victory and the legal formalization of cadastral documents through their connections with governors of the district. In exchange, they demanded $1,300. Subsequently, they were caught while receiving a thousand dollars of this money.
Additionally, a tutor born in 1975, working at the Faculty of Mathematics in Samarkand State University, colluded with officials from the Pension Fund, promising to enhance citizens' retirement by adding 20 years of work experience. The tutor was caught fraudulently receiving $3,000 in return.
It has been reported that criminal cases have been initiated against all the aforementioned individuals under relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and investigations are ongoing.
