Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Japarov participated in the Seventh Consultative Meeting of Central Asian heads of state held in Tashkent. In his speech, he expressed gratitude to Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the warm reception and hospitality, and congratulated him on the successful 43rd session of the UNESCO General Assembly in Samarkand.

“First of all, I would like to extend my deep gratitude to Uzbekistan’s President, the esteemed Shavkat Mirziyoyev, for the traditional warm welcome and hospitality. We always come to fraternal Uzbekistan with a special feeling, where the true spirit of Central Asian unity is felt,” Japarov said.

The Kyrgyz leader emphasized the importance of strengthening economic cooperation in the region. He noted that last year, direct foreign investments from Central Asian states to Kyrgyzstan increased by 15 percent, reaching $135 million. Over the past three years, Kyrgyzstan’s trade turnover with the region grew by 28 percent, amounting to $1.7 billion in January–August this year, a 14 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

Japarov also highlighted the development of transport infrastructure. He stressed the strategic significance of the “China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan” railway, noting that it will create a new transport artery, shorten logistics routes, and open access to major markets in Asia and Europe. From this perspective, he emphasized that the “Zangezur corridor” project should be considered a logical and strategic continuation of the railway, strengthening regional transport connections.

It is worth noting that, previously, Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev visited Tashkent for a working visit and met with Shavkat Mirziyoyev as an honorary guest at the Seventh Consultative Meeting, following an invitation from the Uzbek leader.

In addition, Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Japarov, and Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon also visited Tashkent to participate in the meeting, holding discussions with President Mirziyoyev. They visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Tashkent and attended the award ceremony for winners of the “Heritage of the Future” international prize.

Furthermore, on 16 November, Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in Tashkent on a state visit, following an invitation from President Mirziyoyev.
