5791Today, on May 29, three modern metro trains, each consisting of four new cars, were added to the Tashkent metro fleet, according to a statement from "Tashkent Metropolitan" DUK.
These trains will undergo technical testing for 7-10 days as per standard procedures before being cleared to transport passengers.
Additionally, to further decrease wait times on routes, these new trains will primarily operate on the Erusti ring road, the statement indicated.
The Trade Representative Office of the Russian Federation in Uzbekistan reported that these metro trains were supplied by the Russian company "Metrovagonmash".
“Today, 12 carriages manufactured in Russia were brought to Tashkent for the city's metro needs. After a 7-10 day technical inspection, they will be ready to serve passengers,” the report stated.
Moreover, Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov announced on May 27 at the Russia-Uzbekistan regional council meeting in Tashkent, attended by the Presidents of both countries, that three more four-car trains are scheduled for delivery by the end of June.
It was previously reported that "Metrovagonmash" is in negotiations to supply 60 more metro cars to Uzbekistan during 2024-2025.
