Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Bekmurod Abdullayev and the head of the republic’s preventive services, Hotam Qodirov, have been dismissed from their posts. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced this on January 27 during a video conference meeting held at the Security Directorate under the Tashkent City Main Department of Internal Affairs.
It was noted that coordination between the National Guard, internal affairs bodies, and emergency services in ensuring public safety at major markets and crowded areas remains insufficient.
According to the data presented, 87 crimes were committed at markets and in parks last year, while a total of 774 fires were recorded in the city.
The slow pace of market digitalization was also criticized, with it noted that situational centers have so far been established only at the Chorsu and Farhod markets.
The President also pointed out that more than two years have passed since Zafar Qurbanov was appointed Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs responsible for information technologies, yet no tangible results have been achieved in digitalizing the system.
It was emphasized that these and other systemic problems and shortcomings are primarily the responsibility of leadership.
As a result, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Bekmurod Abdullayev and the head of the republic’s preventive services, Hotam Qodirov, were dismissed from their positions.
Earlier, the President had reprimanded Tashkent City police chief Ravshan Sultonkhodjaev and Acting Tashkent City Prosecutor Anvar Urmonov, stating that instead of focusing on crime prevention and detection, they were preoccupied with touring the city in a minibus.
