JSC "Marketplace Trading" has been fined for violating advertising legislation, according to the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights.

The Committee's investigation revealed that JSC "Marketplace Trading" had posted an advertisement for "Sello Pay" featuring a "0%" fee for money transfers on an outdoor advertising board in Tashkent. Additionally, the company's official website promoted a campaign for money transfers to plastic cards via the "Sello Pay" mobile application, scheduled to begin on July 1, 2024. This campaign, valid for the first three months, offered a monthly transfer limit of 3,000,000 sums without commission. Transfers exceeding this limit would incur a 1% fee. However, the advertisement for this promotion did not adequately disclose the terms and conditions.

As a result of these findings, the Special Commission of the Committee initiated proceedings against JSC "Marketplace Trading" for violating Articles 16, 21, and 43 of the Law "On Advertising" and Article 7 of the Law "On Protection of Consumer Rights." A financial penalty was imposed on the company.

The company has been instructed to correct the legal violations and ensure compliance in the future.

It is worth noting that a similar violation was previously identified in Namangan, involving state purchases worth approximately 5 billion sums.
