1755The Prosecutor General's Office has initiated a criminal case against enterprises that illegally dumped waste into the water. According to the press service of the office, the violations were discovered in the Bozsuv canal, which flows through the Zangiota district of Tashkent region.
The investigation revealed multiple breaches, including the dumping of industrial and household waste into the water basin and the construction of unauthorized structures in sanitary protection zones.
To address these issues, an interdepartmental working group was formed to clean the water basin and dismantle illegal constructions using specialized equipment.
Additionally, inspections were carried out on enterprises discharging industrial waste into the Bozsuv saturation facilities, which process wastewater from Tashkent city.
Laboratory tests showed that the concentration of pollutants in the discharged wastewater exceeded legal standards, leading to criminal charges and the launch of a preliminary investigation.
It is worth mentioning that the head of the Department of Canal Use and Improvement of Areas Adjacent to Tashkent City was previously fined for dumping garbage into the Bozsuv canal.
