The President signs a new decree on sports

From June 2022, Uzbekistan will hold 5-stage mass sports competitions every year on 30 June.  This is stated in the decree of the president of Uzbekistan which was adopted today, 11 April, «On measures to increase the level of involvement of young people in mass sports in the neighborhoods».

The decree coordinates the main directions for the development of mass sports. In particular, family sports will be encouraged and mass sports competitions will be organized.

From June 2022 and thereafter every year on 30 June – within the framework of Youth Day of the Republic of Uzbekistan and «Youth Forum» in December, there will be 5 rounds of mass sports competitions on football, mini-football, volleyball, athletics, chess, checkers, table tennis, street ball, and workouts.

1st stage – inter-street neighborhood competitions;
2nd stage – inter-district sectoral competitions;
3rd stage – district (city) competitions between neighborhood teams that have won in sectoral competitions;
4 stage – regional competitions between the winners of district (city) competitions;
5th stage – Republican (final) competitions between neighborhood teams that won in regional competitions.
These competitions will be held within the framework of the 5-stage «Five Initiatives Olympics».

From March 1, 2023 3-stage national sports competitions in Olympic, non-Olympic and national sports will be held.

Teachers of physical education and coaches of sports schools who have prepared the winners of the above-mentioned competitions are not involved in the qualification assessment and directly assigned to the following qualification categories:

- for the preparation of champions and prize-winners of district (urban) stages of the competition – the second qualification category;
- for the preparation of the champions and prize-winners of the regional stages of the competition – the first qualification category;
- for the preparation of the champions and prize-winners of the republican (final) stage – the highest qualification category.
