Qoqon Airport, which reopened in March this year, welcomed the President of Uzbekistan's plane for the first time today.
Originally built in 1977, the airport initially served nearby destinations before being used solely by the Air Force. Modernization efforts have since enabled the resumption of civil aviation flights.
President Mirziyoyev inspected the recent renovations at the airport.
The airport now features a new terminal with a capacity of 100 passengers, a repaired runway, and modern aeronautical equipment. These upgrades have allowed the airport to accommodate A320-200 and ATR 72-600 aircraft.
