9585The minimum pension in Uzbekistan has been established to align with the minimum consumption expenses, set at 621 thousand soums in 2024. This legislation was enacted by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on March 18.
This presidentially signed law introduced amendments and additions to various legal documents.
Specifically, an amendment to the "On state pension provision of citizens" law extended the period for claiming unpaid pension amounts from 12 to 24 months.
Citizens were granted the option to apply for pensions through state service centers or the Unified Interactive State Services Portal (my.gov.uz).
Furthermore, the law outlined the process for adjusting pension amounts throughout the year, considering the consumer price index of goods and services.
Simultaneously, revisions were made to the Law "On Accumulated Pension Provision of Citizens," stating that information sent electronically by the Pension Fund to the People's Bank would serve as the basis for citizens to receive pension payments.
Modifications were also introduced to the Law "On Rent," eliminating disability as grounds for terminating a lease agreement.
As a reminder, the 2024 MIX (minimum consumption expenditure), calculated based on inflation, was set at 621 thousand soums.
