Citizen under restricted freedom stabs and kills MIA officer

12099In the Dangara district of Fergana region, a citizen fatally stabbed an internal affairs officer who was on duty. This was reported by the Regional Department of Internal Affairs.
The incident occurred on August 26 at 8:45 p.m. The victim, N.M., a Senior Preventive Inspector of the Dangara District MIA, had previously been convicted under Article 276, Part 1 of the Criminal Code and was serving a sentence of restricted liberty. He was required to remain at his residence from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. On the night of the incident, N.M. visited the apartment of Kh.E., a resident of the Shodlik neighborhood, to conduct a routine check.
Upon discovering that Kh.E. was not at home, thereby violating the terms of his sentence, N.M. waited for his return.
When Kh.E. arrived home, he was intoxicated. A confrontation ensued, during which Kh.E. retrieved a kitchen knife and unexpectedly stabbed N.M. in the chest, inflicting a fatal injury. Kh.E. then fled the scene and attempted to hide.
Despite receiving medical attention, N.M. succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Thanks to swift action, Kh.E. was apprehended. A criminal case has been initiated against him under Part 2 of Article 97 of the Criminal Code, and he has been placed in custody pending further legal proceedings.
