Minimum passing score for admission to HEIs remains unchanged

The minimum passing score for entrance exams to higher education institutions in Uzbekistan for the 2024/2025 academic year has remained unchanged. This was reported by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation.

According to the report:

  • The minimum passing score for a state grant is 68.0 points (36% of the maximum 189.0 points).
  • The minimum passing score for a payment contract is set at 56.7 points (30% of the maximum 189.0 points).

Applicants who do not achieve the specified score will not be eligible to participate in the competition for higher education institutions.

For reference, earlier the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, Qongirotboy Sharipov, stated that the minimum score would be increased starting this year. He mentioned that the passing score for healthcare, law, business, and management courses would be 75.6 points, while it would be 66.5 points for other courses. In this year's exams for admission to higher education institutions, nearly half of the applicants did not pass. Of the 345,869 applicants (46.9%) who took the test, none achieved a score of 56.7 points or higher. Conversely, 391,482 applicants (53.1%) scored more than 56.7 points.
