Rumors have spread on social media suggesting that Oston Urunov, one of Uzbekistan's key national team players, might miss the upcoming World Cup qualifying matches against Iran and the UAE due to a minor injury.
However, there is still a possibility that the 23-year-old midfielder will play in the upcoming games. Davron Fayziev, the head of the media department at the Football Association of Uzbekistan, shared insights with QALAMPIR.UZ.
"We cannot confirm his status at the moment. It’s still uncertain whether he will participate in the upcoming matches, but there is a chance he won’t make it onto the field," said Fayziev.
It was also previously reported that head coach Srechko Katanes will not be present for the matches against Iran and the UAE due to health issues.
